Govt To Examine Medical Card Suspensions
The government is thought to be considering returning all removed discretionary medical cards, with reports suggesting that all issues surrounding the cards are to be examined.
It is understood that the issue was discussed at a Cabinet meeting on Tuesday.
The government has faced growing criticism over the review process of the medical cards.
However, according to a report by RTÉ, it would not be possible to immediately reinstate all suspended cards and that those who had previous been refused would not see the decision overturned, as it was not legally possible to do so.
