Toyota Recall 20,000 Cars In Ireland

A defect in passenger side airbags has led to Toyota recalling almost 20,000 cars in Ireland.

Yaris, Corolla and Avensis cars sold between 2000 and 2004 are said to be affected by the fault, which the company say could cause a fire.

"There is a risk that the airbag container could break down and scatter around, which could cause fire or injuries," the car-maker said in a statement.

The exact details of the fire risk are not known but it is understood that no injuries or accidents have been linked to defect.
