Body Recovered From Sea At Inishown Head
The body of a fisherman has been recovered from the sea at Inishown Head, near Greencastle, Co Donegal.
The alarm was raised at about 10am when a local man contacted Malin Head Coast Guard, reporting that he spotted wreckage and a diesel spill in the water off Inishowen Head.
It is understood that the man was alone on his fishing vessel when it sank.
The body was recovered and taken to Greencastle Guard Station, before being transferred to Letterkenny General Hospital.
A search operation was launched while emergency services tried to establish if the man had been alone on the boat, but was stood down a short time later.
An investigation in the circumstances of the man's death is underway.

Gardai have launched an investigation after a body was discovered in Bundoran, Co Donegal, this morning (25 April). The body, believed to be a man aged in his 60's or 70's, was found near the shore in the West End of the town. It is believed the body remains at the scene.

Man Seriously Attacked In Co Limerick
An investigation has been launched after a man was seriously attacked in County Limerick on Monday. The incident occurred in Newcastle West at around 2.15am. The man suffered a serious head injury and is currently being treated in hospital. Gardai are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.

A man remains in a critical condition after being struck by a Luas tram in Tallaght on Wednesday night. The collision occurred on the Red Line between the Kingswood and Red Cow stops, shortly before 8pm. The man suffered serious head injuries and was taken to Tallaght Hospital, before being transferred to Beaumont Hospital.

A west Cork man reported missing on Monday night has been found "safe and well". Bantry Gardaí launched a search operation, assisted by the Coast Guard Helicopter and local coast guard units.

The body off a British police constable who went missing following a dive at Horn Head off the County Donegal coast on Sunday afternoon has been recovered. Paul Jackson, 49, was a constable with Humberside Police and had been on holiday in Donegal with friends.
