Drivers And Families Protest Bus Éireann Privatisation
A protest has been held in Waterford over plans to privatise the city's bus service.
According to reports some 300 people, including bus drivers and friends and families, have marched through the city to protest Bus Éireann's plans.
The National Bus and Rail Union has said that the company's plans involve finding a private operator to run the city bus service from next year, but added that up to 35 drivers would be affected by the privatisation, if it went ahead.

Sinn Féin Call On Transport Minister To 'Accept Responsibility' For Bus Strikes
Minister for Transport Paschal Donoghue has been told to accept his responsibility for the upcoming bus strike and to "call a halt" to privatisation plans. Sinn Féin transport spokesperson Dessie Ellis made the call ahead of a 48 hours strike in an ongoing dispute over the government's plan to privatise 10% of Bus Éireann and Dublin Bus routes.

A number of new measures will be introduced in order to deal with Dublin's Traffic problems, it has been announced today. In one of the widest encompassing ideas, traffic speed limits in Dublin city centre are to be reduced from next year to 30km/h following a vote by city councillors.

Witnesses Asked To Come Forward Over Finglas
Witnesses have been asked to come forward with information following attacks on buses in the Finglas area of Dublin. The bus service has been severely limited as bus drivers fear for their safety. Workers for the bus service claim at least one attack per night was made on their vehicles over the past three weeks.
