Agreement 'Unanimous' On New Children's Hospital Site
St James's Hospital is the site best suited for the new national children's hospital, Eilish Hardiman, CEO of the Children's Hospital Group has said.
Ms Hardiman was speaking on RTÉ's Morning Ireland when she said that the new children's hospital was expect to move forward, saying that the decision was unanimous amongst the children's hospitals.
It is understood that the St James's site is twice the size of what was available at the Mater Hospital, leaving room for further expansion.
The new children's hospital will contain 469 single, en-suite rooms.

An eight-acre site at the Phoenix Park Racecourse in Dublin has been put forward as a potential location for the new National Children's Hospital. Dublin-based firm Flynn & O'Flaherty have said that the hospital could be built for €440m, more than €200m less than the proposed development at the Mater Hospital site.

Shots Fired At House In Drogheda
An investigation has been launched into a shooting incident in Drogheda, Co Louth on Thursday night. According to gardaí some fifteen shots were fired at the house in Knockbrack Close at around 21:30 last night. Two women and five children were in the house at the time, with one of the women being grazed by a bullet.

Protection Of Life During Pregnancy Bill Published
The Protection of Life during Pregnancy Bill has been published by the government following approval by the Cabinet. Several significant changes have been made to the outline of the Bill, which was published in April. The Minister for Health will be given the power to stop suspended an institution if deemed to be operating the Act inappropriately.

Outpatient Waiting Lists 'Abysmal'
The government's record on outpatient waiting lists has been described as "abysmal", with new figures revealing a 323% increase in the number of people waiting more than 18 months for an outpatient appointment at University Hospital Galway – they're up from 1,184 in May 2016 to 5,008 at the end of January this year.
