Holidaymakers Rescued From Amusement Park Ride
Emergency services were called after a ride at an amusement park in Tramore, Co Waterford malfunctioned and left six people stranded some 60 metres above the ground.
The six, understood to be two families on holiday in the area, were trapped on the ride for up to an hour, before emergency services were able to rescue them with a crane lift fire engine.
Engineers had tried to restart the stalled ride, but were unsuccessful.
It has now been shut down for repairs.
No one was injured in the incident.

Gardaí Investigate Serious Assault And Burglary In Dublin
Gardaí are investigating a burglary in Rialto in Dublin that left a 69-year-old man with a serious head injury. According to garda, emergency services found the elderly man lying on the ground at around 1.30am on Thursday morning. He is being treated at St James's Hospital where his condition is described as serious but not life-threatening.

Modified Cars Seized In Overnight Garda Operation
Gardaí have seized a car after it was discovered that its battery had been "relocated" to its boot and held in place with cable ties. The seizure was made by officers from Operation CURB (Changing Your Road Behaviour) in an overnight operation on March 06 and 07.

Agreement Reached Over Lufthansa Technik Jobs
Agreement has been reached during talks to save over 400 jobs at aircraft engine maintenance company Lufthansa Technik Airmotive. The talks are said to have lasted 11 hours, but it has since emerged that both sides have agreed on a document they believe will help to implement the previously disputed working arrangements.
