DCC Grant Licence For Just Three Of Five Sold Out Croke Park Shows
Dublin City Council (DCC) have voted to grant a licence to just three of the five sold out Garth Brooks at Croke Park.
A total of 400,000 tickets have been sold for the five night, despite no licence being granted. Now, DCC have voted to only grant a licence for three of the shows.
The shows understood to be going ahead are 25, 26 and 27 July.
The appeal the council's decision the shows promoter must go to the courts.
Croke Park residents had been campaigning against the five nights of concerts, citing a 2009 agreement that the GAA would not allow more than 3 shows per year at Croke Park.
What will now happened with the remaining two, already sold out shows, is not yet known, however, previous reports that had suggested efforts were being made to find a new venue have been rejected as there would not be enough time for the licence application process.
