Body Recovered In Empty Yacht Search

A search operation launched some two weeks ago following the discovery of an empty yacht has recovered the body of man.

The body was pulled from the sea at about 17:40 on Thursday.

It is believed to be connected to the discovery of an empty yacht, anchored off the coast of Ards.

The body has been removed to Letterkenny General Hospital, where a post-mortem examination is due to be carried out today.

Body Found In Co Donegal
Gardai have launched an investigation after a body was discovered in Bundoran, Co Donegal, this morning (25 April). The body, believed to be a man aged in his 60's or 70's, was found near the shore in the West End of the town. It is believed the body remains at the scene.

Investigation Launched After Body Found In Carlow
The body of a woman has been found in a house in Carlow. Gardaí say that the body of a 37-year-old woman was discovered at a house in the Craigcullen area of Carlow at about 21:45 on Sunday. The body remains at the scene to allow for a forensic examination. The identity of the woman has not yet been released.

Tesco To Remove Sweets From Checkouts
A major supermarket chain has announced that it will remove sweets from its checkouts. Tesco has said that is making the change to help customers make heathier food choices, and will remove confectionery from the checkouts across all of its 146 Irish stores by the end of the year.
