The derailing of a DART train near Bray station on Tuesday night has been blamed on vandals.

Iarnród Éireann have said that an investigation has revealed that rocks may have been dislodged from a wall above the tracks.

The 23:10 service from Greystones to Connolly Station hit rocks about a mile south of Bray, causing two sets of trains wheels to come off the track.

The line was closed overnight, but reopened this morning and the service is running as normal.

Iarnród Éireann is asking for anyone with information relating to the incident to contact gardaí as they are looking into the matter.
