Taoiseach Calls Meeting To Discuss Brooks Solution
A meeting is to be held today at 17:00 to try and reach a compromise over the cancelled Garth Brooks concerts at Croke Park.
The Lord Mayor of Dublin, Christy Burke, and the Chief Executive of Dublin City Council, Owen Keegan will meet with the Taoiseach Enda Kenny, who is understood to have asked the Labour Relations Commission Chief Executive Kieran Mulvey to see if the concerts could be salvaged.
A number of suggestions have been made in the days following the announcement that all shows had been cancelled.
It is understood that the Taoiseach hopes to discuss the best of these suggestions and try to establish a workable solution.
In related news a High Court injunction against the three shows that were granted a licence by Dublin City Council has been struck out.

A protest is to be held next Monday outside the monthly meeting of Dublin City Council (DCC) by residents of Croke Park over the upcoming Garth Brooks concerts. The residents took the decision to protest at a public meeting held on the issue. They also agreed to demand an oral hearing into the concert licence application.

The Taoiseach Enda Kenny has met with French President, Francois Hollande, to discuss a range of EU counter-terrorism measures and the impact of the UK's Brexit decision. During the meeting the Taoiseach reiterated the sympathy and solidarity of the Irish people with France in the wake of the attack in Nice on 14 July.
