Matinee Proposal 'Not Feasible' For Brooks Shows
A proposal that two of the five disputed Garth Brooks shows be held as matinees on 26 and 27 July as been declared as "not feasible".
Aiken Promotions proposed the matinee shows, which would have seen concerts taking place between 14:00 and 18:00, then later that same day from 20:00, and Taoiseach Enda Kenny is understood to have been hopeful that it was a potential solution.
The proposal was accepted by Dublin City Council, saying that it remained within the legislative framework of the three day licence.
However, the proposal has subsequently been rejected by Aiken Promotions, who say that it is 'not feasible'.
In a press conference on Thursday, Garth Brooks, criticised the handling of the situation, saying that "he was the real loser" in the controversy, but remained steadfast that it would be five shows, or none.
