Bones Found During Work At Trinity College

Archaeologists have been called in to investigate bones discovered by workers outside Trinity College on College Green on Wednesday afternoon.

The discovery was made during Luas works outside the college and some 1.5m underground.

It is understood that the bones are thought to be historic human remains.

The site has been cordoned off to allow archaeologists to investigate the remains. Luas work is continuing on areas outside the cordoned off area.

To facilitate crucial Luas Cross City construction work, traffic disruptions are expected on Dublin's North and South Quays, from 8 pm on Friday 04 August until 6am on Monday 14 August.

BoI Building To Become Cultural And Heritage Centre
Bank of Ireland's landmark College Green building is to handed over to the government for 10 years and turned into a state-run cultural and heritage centre. The government will convert the building as part of the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht's 'Decade of Centenaries' programme, which launched in 2012.

Teen Dies In Road Accident
A teenager has died after she was struck by a car while she was out for a walk with a pal in Galway on Wednesday night. The accident occurred at around 9.45pm in Ros a' Mhíl. The 15-year-old girl was taken to University College Hospital in Galway, where she was later pronounced dead. Her friend and the driver of the car were not injured.
