Man Held At Gunpoint In Louth

An 18-year-old man has been held at gunpoint in Co Louth.

The incident happened after the victim arranged to meet another man to sell his car.

Gardaí have said the man arrived at an agreed location at around 11.30pm on Sunday. where he was to meet the other man. Instead, he was met by two masked men, one of whom was armed.

The men took the teenager to a disused farmhouse and held him there for a number of hours. He was then taken to his home where a number of his family members were assaulted. It is understood their injuries are not serious.

The masked men also searched the property, stealing a number of items.

They fled the scene in a car that was later found burned out.

No arrests have yet been made in connection with the incident.

Three In Court Following Tipperary Attack

Missing Cork Man Found 'Safe And Well'
A missing 52-year-old man from Cork has been found 'safe and well', garda have reported. John Ryan was last seen in the Shanakiel area of Cork City on Wednesday, 24 May. However, Mr Ryan has now been located and no further action is required.

Missing Co Mayo Man Found 'Safe And Well'
Missing Co Mayo man, David Duffy, has been found safe and well, garda have reported. Garda had issued an appeal for help in tracing 36-year-old Mr Duffy, who had not been seen since Sunday. Garda have thanked the public for their help and said that no further action is needed.

Man Dies In Stabbing Incident
A 30-year-old has died and a second man has been injured in a stabbing incident in Tullamore, Co Offaly, shortly after 7am this morning. It is believed there had been an argument in a house in the area and a Polish man was killed. The other man's injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
