Ryanair Increases Profit Forecast
Ryanair has increased its annual profit forecast after its net income more than doubled for the three months to June.
In its latest trading update, the budget airline said its Q2 profit rose to €197m, compared to €78m the previous year.
The airline raised its profit forecast for the year to March 2015 to a range of €620m and €650m – up from the previous estimate of €580m to €620m.
Howard Millar, Chief Financial Officer, commented: "We've made a lot of service improvements over the last six or seven months and we're seeing the benefits."
Late last year, Ryanair started promoting a more 'customer-friendly' image.

The Irish airline, Aer Lingus, has said that net losses narrowed in the first half of the year and that it was on course for an annual profit. It has reported operating losses of €27.8m, or £24.6m, in the first half of 2011 but had a strong second quarter, taking profits of €25.9m. The airline said passenger numbers also rose by 8.

Ash Cloud Cuts Ryanair Profits
Ryanair has reported the recent ash cloud from the Icelandic volcano caused a 24% fall in its profits during the first three months of its financial. The disruptions caused by the volcanic ash cloud meant its net profit for the period from March to the end of June was €93.7m, with a cost of €50m for almost 10,000 flights cancelled in April and May.
