President Higgins In Belgium For WWI Commemoration
President Michael D Higgins is attending an international ceremony in Liège, Belgium, to mark the beginning of World War One.
President Higgins joins some 50 heads of state commemorating the anniversary.
Along with his wife he will later attend a service hosted by the UK at Mons – an area that holds the graves of some of the first army casualties of the war, including a number of Irishmen.

Election 2016 To Take Place On 26 February
Taoiseach Enda Kenny has confirmed the election will take place on 26 February. Writing on Twitter, he said: "I am seeking a dissolution of Dáil Éireann today with the election to be held on February 26th." Mr Kenny and President Higgins signed the papers just after 10.30am on Wednesday. Polling stations will open 23 days from today, 03 February.

President Higgins To Make First State Visit To UK
President Michael D Higgins will lead the first state visit by an Irish Head of State to the United Kingdom next month. The President will be accompanied by Sabina Higgins as he visits the UK between 08 – 11 April, both going to Windsor Castle as guests of Queen Elizabeth.
