Council To Install Hidden Cameras In Graffiti Crackdown

Security cameras are to be installed by Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council to clamp down on graffiti.

The council say that they have received 627 complaints and have removed around 10,000 square metres of graffiti in the last 12 months.

It is understood that some of the security cameras will be hidden.

The council say that any footage of people caught doing graffiti will be passed to gardaí, who have launched 'Operation Slogan' and are working with the council to crack down on vandalism in the are.

Flood Alert Across Ireland
Motorists are today being advised to exercise caution while driving because of heavy rain overnight. In Clare, flooding is reported on the main Galway Road (N18) between Ballyline and Crusheen. Gardaí say the road is still passable, but motorists are advised to be careful and there is flooding in Passage West and near Cloghroe Church in Co Cork.
