No Confirmed Or Suspected Cases Of Ebola In Ireland - HSE
There are no confirmed or suspected cases of ebola in Ireland, the Health Service Executive has said.
In a statement on their website, the HSE said: "The National Isolation Unit in the Mater Hospital is used for patients with a variety of infectious diseases. Negative pressure is a feature of this specialist facility, as part of normal infection control procedures.
"The HSE Health Protection Surveillance Centre (HPSC) along with all other national infectious disease institutes in Europe was alerted to this Ebola virus disease (EVD) Outbreak in March 2014. HPSC immediately alerted hospital clinicians and GPs around the country of the outbreak and WHO guidelines are being followed in Ireland."

The HSE has confirmed that Ebola has been ruled out after a woman underwent tests at a Dublin hospital following an Ebola scare. A woman was rushed to the Mater Hospital this morning with symptoms similar to Ebola. Donegal Man Negative For Ebola Virus
Tests carried out on the body of a man in Donegal have proven negative for Ebola. The body of Mr Dessie Quinn (43) was found at a house in Donegal town on Thursday. It is understood that the he had recently returned to Ireland from working in Sierra Leone.
