Passenger Numbers Increase For Aer Lingus
Aer Lingus has recorded a 7% increase in its passenger numbers for the month of August.
Last month, the airline said it carried a more than 1,205 million passengers – an increase from 1,126 million passengers in August 2013.
The number of long-haul passengers surged by more than 22% to 148,000 for the month, compared to 121,000 in August 2013. The airline's short-haul traffic also rose by 3.3% to 913,000 passengers. In the same month last year, the figure was 884,000.
With regards to Aer Lingus Regional routes, passenger numbers increased by 19% to 144,000.
The overall load factor, which is how many seats the airline fills on each flight, jumped as well for the month of August, rising from 86.6% to 87.8%.
In a statement, it said the short-haul load factor increased by 1.4% to 83.5%, but its long-haul load fell by 0.8% to 94.1%.

Ryanair Passenger Numbers Increase
Ryanair has confirmed its passenger numbers increased for December 2014. Last month, the airline carried 6.02 million passengers, compared to 5.02 million in December 2013, an increase of 20%. Its load factor, which is how many seats it fills on each flights, also increased by 7% last month, from 81% to 88%.

Aer Lingus has reported a fall in passenger numbers for the month of November when compared to the same month in 2013. In total, the airline carried 702,000 passengers last month, which is down by 3.6% from November last year. The company said the figures were in line with a planned reduction in its short-haul capacity.
