Two-Year-Old Killed In 'Tragic Accident' In Co Galway

Gardaí in Co Galway have reported the death of a two-year-old boy in Ornamore on Monday night.

It is understood that the boy was hit by a car in the driveway of his home at Derrydonnell at about 19:15. Garda say that the car was being driven by one of the child's parents.

The child died a short time after arriving at University Hospital Galway.

A forensic collision investigation team is examining the scene but garda say that that the incident is being treated as a tragic accident.

Galway RNLI have rescued a 19-year-old man from an island off Silver Strand. The teenager had become stranded in an area called Grey Rock by the rising tide at about 19:45 on Wednesday. A kayaker who spotted the teenager and raised the alarm.

It is understood that there has been strong interest in the building, some of which were only vacated recently, with others sitting unused for decades. Two-Year-Old Child Killed In Fatal Traffic Collision
A two-year-old boy has been killed in a serious road traffic collision in County Wicklow. At approximately 4.30pm on Monday 17 July, the child was struck by a car at Silverbridge in Bray, Co Wicklow. The boy was taken to Crumlin Children's Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the car was uninjured.
