Health Reform Timetable 'Overambitious' - Varadkar
Speaking on RTÉ's Morning Ireland, Minister for Health Leo Varadkar has said that the timetable for the health service reforms were "overambitious" from the start.
On the program the minister said that it would not be possible this year to get rid of the structure of the Health Service Executive, adding that he wanted to "concentrate on reforms that will improve GP practices and building and developing hospital groups".
The minister went on to say that there would be no deadline placed on the introduction of free GP care for children. When asked if it would be in place by the end of the year, as promised, he replied: "I can't say that for certain."
