Ian Paisley Dies Aged 88

Ian Paisley, a founder and former leader of the Democratic Unionist Party in Northern Ireland, has died aged 88.

A statement from Baroness Eileen Paisley, Mr Paisley's wife, confirmed that he had died on Friday morning.

The statement read: "Although ours is the grand hope of reunion, naturally as a family, we are heartbroken.

"We loved him and he adored us, and our earthly lives are forever changed."

Baroness Paisley said that the funeral would be private.

Agricultural Remembrance Service Held In Co Laois
A remembrance service for victims who lost their lives in agricultural-related accidents has been held in Co Laois. The service, organised by Embrace FARM, took place at the Holy Rosary Church in Abbeyleix at 2pm on 28 June. Embrace FARM was founded last year by Brian Rohan who father died following an accident on the family farm in 2012.

Woman, 82, Dies In Road Accident
An 82-year-old woman has died following a road accident in Donegal. The crash occurred at around 3.50pm on Monday (18 August) at The Ross in Bundoran. Gardaí have said a car collided with a fence in the incident. The woman was transferred to Sligo Hospital but later died from her injuries. Anyone with information is asked to contact Gardaí.

Man Dies In Fall At Sligo Hotel
Gardaí in Sligo have reported the death of a 28-year-old man after a fall from a railing on Quay Street. The man is thought to have been trying to access Sligo City Hotel at about 01:45 when he fell, sustaining serious head injuries. It is understood that a woman was also injured in the incident.
