Campaigners Occupy West Dublin Home Of Evicted Couple

The rented west Dublin home of a couple evicted last month has been occupied by protestors.

According to a report by the Irish Times, four men - representing the Meath Anti-Eviction group, People For Economic Justice and The Land League - have moved into the former home of Martin and Violet Coyne, in Luttrel Park Close in Carpenterstown.

The occupation began at about 07:45 on Friday morning.

It is understood that gardaí arrived at the property at about 9am and have refused to let anyone else enter the home.

It has been revealed that the elderly couple evicted from their home in Killiney, Co Dublin, last week own a substantial number of apartments in London. Brendan and Asta Kelly were evicted from their home in relation to debts owed to the Irish Bank Resolution Corporation, which now incorporates the former Irish Nationwide Building Society.

Teen Bites Ear Of Man, 60, During Burglary
A teenager has appeared before a special sitting of Limerick District Court charged in connection with a robbery and assault on Saturday morning. The 16-year-old boy was charged with the robbery of a house in St Jude's Avenue, Ballysimon at about 3am.
