Govt To Publish Penalty Points Report

A report into allegations that penalty points were cancelled with proper authority is to be published by the government, Minister for Justice Frances Fitzgerald has said.

The new allegations are being investigated by both the Garda Ombudsman and the Garda Professional Standards Unit.

Rejecting claims that An Garda Síochána is an "out of control force", the minister urged people "not to jump to conclusions" and to allow the full facts to be established.
