Four Arrested In Money Laundering Investigation
Gardaí in Cork have arrested four people in an investigation into money laundering.
Two men, aged 19 and 29, and two women, aged 28 and 50, were arrested during a search of houses in the Fairhill and Knocknaheeny areas.
Gardaí say they are being interviewed as part of an ongoing investigation into money laundering in Cork.
A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Seven Arrested Over Money Laundering Investigation
Seven people have been arrested in a series of raids in Cork city on Thursday morning. Five women and two men, aged between 20 and 51, were detained by officers from the Divisional Fraud Investigation Unit, assisted by Divisional Drug Unit and CAB. Gardaí said that the arrested were made as part of an ongoing operation into money laundering.

A fuel laundering plant has been uncovered by Gardaí and Revenue officers on a commercial property in Portlaw, Co Waterford. According to reports the plant had the capacity to launder some 10 million litres of fuel annually, which represents a potential loss to the Exchequer of around €5 million.

€2m Fraud Operation Using 'Money Mule' Accounts Investigated
Gardaí are investigating a multimillion money laundering operation that has made use of approximately 200 "mule" accounts. Criminals are believed to have been recruiting young people to help launder stolen or illegal money using their own bank account. These people are then promised a share of the proceeds in exchange for their account details.
