Govt Urged To Invest In School Breakfast Clubs

Campaign group, Healthy Food for All, has called on the government to provide breakfast for all school children in disadvantaged areas.

In its report, Supporting the Development of Breakfast Clubs, the group said that it would cost just 70 cents per day, per child, to provide breakfast in schools.

It has called on the government to provide an investment of €1.8m annually to help all 800 DEIS schools establish a breakfast club, saying that the investment would have "huge benefits".
