Two New Routes Announced For Dublin

Two new routes are to launch from Dublin Airport from 2015, it has been announced.

WOW Air, the Icelandic airline carrier, has said it is to launch a new year-round service from Dublin to Reykjavik from next June.

Flights for the route will run on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. It is the first scheduled service between the two cities.

Welcoming the announcement, Paschal Donohoe, Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, said: "With a travel time of little more than two hours between Ireland and Iceland, I have no doubt this service will be a huge success. I want to congratulate WOW and wish them luck for the future in growing the service and passenger numbers to Ireland."

In addition to the above route, Aer Lingus has also confirmed it is to launch a new service from Dublin next year.

Aer Lingus Regional, which is operated by Stobart Air, is to add East Midlands Airport to its Dublin route network.

Up to 70,000 passengers are expected to use the new route, which will have twice daily flights, from February 2015.
