Met Éireann Issues Weather Warning
A weather warning has been issued by Met Éireann and will be in place for most of the day (Friday).
The yellow warning comes as up to 40mm of rain is due to fall today, with winds also reaching gale force.
Rain is expected to move southeastwards throughout the day and will be heavy in places. Areas expected to be affected by the conditions and potential flooding include Carlow, Cork, Dublin, Kilkenny, Waterford and Wexford.
Met Éireann has said some brighter weather will follow but further outbreaks of rain should still be expected.
A risk of localised flooding is in place for areas of Leinster, Munster and Ulster.

Status Yellow Rainfall Warning Issued Across 11 Counties
Met Éireann have issued a Status Yellow weather warning for rain across 11 counties. The warning, which came into effect at 7am this morning, is in place for Dublin, Kildare, Laois, Longford, Louth, Wicklow, Offaly, Westmeath, Meath, Cavan and Monaghan. The warning will remain in place until 6am tomorrow, when it will be reviewed.

Met Éireann Warning As More Snow Expected
Met Éireann has warned drivers that while conditions have improved it is only expected to be a temporary respite with widespread snow set to return on Tuesday night. A number of roads across the State have been closed by heavy snowfall, causing major disruptions in most counties.

Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow wind warning for counties Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo and Clare. West to southwest winds of mean speeds 45 to 65km/h with gusts of 90 to 110km/h are expected in western coastal counties throughout Friday and in the northwest during Friday afternoon and evening.
