Co Offaly Wind Farm Granted Permission
An Bord Pleanála have granted permission for a nine-turbine wind farm in Co Offaly, which they had previously rejected.
The planning authority had previously refused permission for Galetech Energy Developments Cloghan Ltd proposal of ten 170-metre high turbines, saying that the development was "excessively dominant" and "visually obtrusive."
A new proposal has been granted permission, subject to conditions; in allows for nine turbines of a maximum height of 150 metres and also require a Nature Impact Statement and an Environmental Impact Statement.
The turbines will stand for ten years at Stonestown, Kilcamin, Crancreagh and Derrinlough in Cloghan, where last year's planned turbines were refused.

A proposed €50m concert venue in Cork has been granted planning permission by An Bord Pleanala. The new venue will be at Albert Quay in the city and will be built by developer Owen O'Callaghan. The plans for the new venue show a 100,000sq ft, 5,000-seater indoor arena, expandable to accommodate 7,500 people both seated and standing.
