Gardaí Appeal Over Dublin Hit-And-Run

Gardaí in Dublin have appealed for witnesses to a hit-and-run incident which caused the death of an 87-year-old man.

The incident happened on 30 September at Hanlon's Corner on Dublin's North Circular Road, when a white truck, thought to be a Mercedes, knocked the man out of his wheelchair and failed to stopped.

The man died four days later of injuries sustained in the hit-and-run.

Gardaí have issued an appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident and to the driver of the truck to contact them at the Bridewell Garda Station on 01-666 8200.

A man has presented himself to gardaí in connection with a fatal hit-and-run incident on 30 September, following an appeal. In the incident an 87-year-old man was knocked from his wheelchair after being hit by a white lorry, which then failed to stop. The man died a short time later of his injuries.

Gardaí in Cork have appealed for witnesses to a hit-and-run in Co Cork at about 19:30 on Tuesday. A 71-year-old woman is being treated in hospital after she was knocked off her bicycle at Haymount, Lower Woodstock in Carrigtwohill. Her injuries are described as serious but not life-threatening.

Dundalk Hit-And-Run 'Deliberate Act Of Endangerment'
Gardaí have issued an appeal for witnesses following a hit-and-run incident in Dublin, Co Louth, which has been described as a "deliberate act of endangerment". It is understood that a silver Ford Focus, registration 99-D-25111, mounted the footpath and struck a man, aged in his 30s. The incident occurred on Barrack street shortly before 10am.

Irish Tourist Killed In Hit-And-Run Incident
An Irish man has been killed in a hit-and-run traffic incident while on holiday in Florida. Police in North Lauderdale have said a 41-year-old man died after he was hit by a BMW SUV. He and two Irish friends had just left a bar and were on their way back to the hotel early yesterday morning, when the man was hit while crossing a street.

Man Held Over Westmeath Hit-And-Run
Gardaí have arrested a man aged in his 20s in connection with a hit-and-run in Westmeath on Tuesday. A 38-year-old man was left seriously injured after being hit by a car at about 15:00 at Magheraboy Upper in Westmeath. Garda confirmed they are holding a man in connection with the incident.
