Man Ends Water Charges Hunger Strike
A man in Cork has ended his hunger strike protest over water charges, saying he thinks he "got (his) point across".
28-year-old Gary Coleman began his hunger strike at 17:00 on Monday at the front of Cork City Hall in protest against water charges, which he said are an "unjust tax on people".
At a press conference held on Wednesday night, Mr Coleman announced he had ended his protest following concerns for his wellbeing raised by family and friends.
Mr Coleman thanked the people of Cork for their "huge support" during his two day protest.

Man Continues Anti-Property Tax Hunger Strike
A man has been hunger strike for 22 days outside Leinster House in protest over the property tax. Taoiseach Enda Kenny said he would meet with Co Meath man Tony Rochford, who it is cliamed has lost 29lbs since his protest began. The Taoiseach was responding to Independent TD John Halligan, who questioned Kenny over Mr Rochford's ongoing protest.

Sinn Féin Announce Hunger Strike Commemorations
Details of the National Hunger Strike Commemorations, due to take place in Dundalk on 23 August, have been announced by Sinn Féin. Sinn Féin leader, Gerry Adams, joined Louth County Councillor Edel Corrigan and an invited audience at the Old Dundalk Jail.
