Gardaí Appeal For Witnesses To Fatal Co Cork Road Accident
Gardaí in Co Cork have appealed for witnesses after an 82-year-old man was knocked down and killed by a car in Kilcrohane on Thursday night.
The incident happened at about 20:05 last night as the elderly man was walking in the town.
He was pronounced dead at Cork University Hospital shortly before midnight.
The scene of the accident has been sealed pending a forensic examination.
Anyone who witnessed the accident is asked to contact Bantry Garda station on 027-20860, the Garda Confidential Line 1-800-666-111 or any Garda station.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses of a fatal road traffic accident in Co Meath on Wednesday afternoon. A woman in her 20s was killed when the car she was driving collided with a truck at Moyleggan in Batterstown. The female driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck suffered minor injuries and was treated at Navan hospital.

She was taken to Mayo General Hospital before being transferred to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin. She was later then returned to Castlebar.
