Garda Recover Money Conned Out Of Elderly Dublin Woman
All the money taken by conmen from an 83-year-old Dublin woman, has been recovered, gardaí have reported.
A group of men took €3,000 from Kathleen Byrne after convincing her that urgent work needed to be done on the roof of her home.
The men took the money and never returned.
Gardaí have interviewed three men in connection with the incident and recovered Ms Byrne's money.
A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Four Arrested In Money Laundering Investigation
Gardaí in Cork have arrested four people in an investigation into money laundering. Two men, aged 19 and 29, and two women, aged 28 and 50, were arrested during a search of houses in the Fairhill and Knocknaheeny areas. Gardaí say they are being interviewed as part of an ongoing investigation into money laundering in Cork.

61-Year-Old Convicted Over Money Lending And Tax Evasion
Officers from the Paramilitary Crime Task Force (PCTF) have welcomed the sentence handed down to 61-year-old Geoffrey Beggs at Antrim Crown Court on Tuesday 20 September. The 61-year-old was sentenced to 20 months suspended for two years for money lending; and 12 months suspended for two years for tax evasion.
