Dundalk Gardaí Appeal After Knife-Point Robbery

An investigation is underway after a family in Dundalk were robbed at knife-point.

Gardaí said three masked men forced their way into the Dundalk family home of a restaurant owner. His wife and three children were also home at the time.

A man held the children, aged 10, 12 and 16, at knife-point in a bedroom, while the man and woman were locked in another bedroom.

Two of the men then raided the house, before all three made off with a sum of money in a white van.

Gardaí have appealed to anyone who seen anything suspicious in the Belfry Gardens estate at about 20:00 to contact them. In particular they hope to speak with anyone who saw a white Citroen Berlingo van before or after the incident took place.
