Revenue Extends LPT Deadline
Revenue has confirmed it has extended today's deadline for local property tax (LPT).
Initially, the deadline for single payment notifications was for 8pm tonight (7 January). This has now been extended until 4pm on Friday (9 December).
In a statement, Revenue Commissioners said the decision was made following a "very large volume of calls" made to the LPT helpline over the last two days.
The LPT Helpline – 1890 200 255 – will now remain open from 8am to 8pm today (Wednesday 7 January) and tomorrow (Thursday). It will reopen from 8am to 4pm on Friday (9 January).
Due to the high volume of calls being received, Commissioners have said most transactions can be made through the online system. One such example of this includes property owners who do not have their Property ID or PIN. They can apply on-line to have the Property ID and PIN reissued.
Any property owner that paid by lump sum or cash payment in 2014 and People are being encouraged to act before the deadline in order to avoid interest, penalties and enforcement activity.
