Voluntary Redundancy For Some Tesco Staff

Hundreds of staff at Tesco Ireland are reported to have accepted voluntary redundancy.

According to reports, up to 350 staff took redundancy.

It is thought a majority of the job losses are in relation to night-time staff, while those who stack shelves at night are due to move to day-time hours.

However, it is understood the supermarket chain has said all but 90 of the positions will be backfilled, with the new arrangements.

The move is said to be in an effort to improve customer services.
