250 New Jobs For Co Galway

Two hundred and fifty new jobs are to be created in Co Galway by medical devices manufacturer, Zimmer.

The company will create the jobs over the next five years as part of an expansion, with a new €51m facility in Oranmore.

The company, which manufactures orthopaedic surgical products, currently employs more than 300 people at a facility in Shannon.

Minister for Jobs, Richard Burton, welcomed the news, describing the decision to establish the facility in the region as "significant".

One hundred new jobs are to be created by life-sciences technologies company, Surmodics, the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise & Innovation, Mary Mitchell O'Connor has announced. The jobs announcement follows the company's acquisition of Creagh Medical in Ballinasloe, Co Galway, in November 2015.
