River Searches Carried Out For Missing Man
Garda sub aqua divers and members of Kilkenny river rescue have carried out a search of the River Nore in Co Kilkenny for a 33-year-old man.
It is understood that the man was walking along the river bank with a group of friends at about 01:30 on Sunday morning when he entered the water.
The man's friends called emergency services after he failed to reappear.
The Waterford Coast Guard helicopter assisted officers in their search but it is understood that it returned to base at about 7am on Sunday.
Garda said their search operation is ongoing.

Missing Co Mayo Man Found 'Safe And Well'
Missing Co Mayo man, David Duffy, has been found safe and well, garda have reported. Garda had issued an appeal for help in tracing 36-year-old Mr Duffy, who had not been seen since Sunday. Garda have thanked the public for their help and said that no further action is needed.

Man Dies In Kilkenny House Fire
An elderly man has died in a fire at a house in Kilkenny city, early this on Wednesday morning. The fire broke out at around 4.20am. Four other people were in the house also, but it is understood that they escaped injury. Gardaí are investigating the incident and have preserved the scene for examination.

A missing 52-year-old man from Cork has been found 'safe and well', garda have reported. John Ryan was last seen in the Shanakiel area of Cork City on Wednesday, 24 May. However, Mr Ryan has now been located and no further action is required.
