100 New Jobs Announced In Shannon

One hundred new jobs are to be created in Shannon with the opening of a European manufacturing plant by AMAX.

The company, which produces dynamic Data Centre & Cloud, custom Server Appliance and High Performance Computing (HPC) solutions, will establish its first European operation at Western Business Park Shannon.

Welcoming the news, Chairman of the Oireachtas Committee on Foreign Affairs and Trade, Pat Breen, said: "These jobs will be crucial to the ongoing economic recovery of Shannon and things are looking up for wider Clare area with Shannon Airport and tourism figures going from strength to strength."

Sextuplet Passes Away
One of Ireland's first sextuplets has died. It was revealed today that one of Nuala Conway's four girls - born along with two boys on 22 May - passed away at a local hospital in the North. Their publicist Max Clifford confirmed the news and said: "Our hearts go out to the mum and dad and we hope that the others are going to be fine," he said.

100 New Jobs Announced By Surmodics
One hundred new jobs are to be created by life-sciences technologies company, Surmodics, the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise & Innovation, Mary Mitchell O'Connor has announced. The jobs announcement follows the company's acquisition of Creagh Medical in Ballinasloe, Co Galway, in November 2015.
