New Law Calls For Electronic Cigarettes To Be Banned

New laws being proposed would see the banning of electronic cigarettes in bars, restaurants and workplaces, as well as being made illegal for those under the age of 18.

Senators John Crown and Averil Power have introduced a bill in the Oireachtas, that would tighten the regulations around the devices.

Under the proposed legislation, which would have to pass a number of stages before being enacted, Ireland's Health Service Executive (HSE) would be charged with monitoring emerging scientific evidence on e-cigarettes and tweak the law accordingly.
