Visiting Restrictions Lifted At Hospitals
Visiting restrictions are to start to be lifted at three hospitals in Ireland today, it has been reported.
Over the weekend, the major hospitals confirmed there had been an outbreak of flu and therefore had to put restrictions in place.
St James's Hospital in Dublin has said its out-patient, day ward and diagnostic services will operate as usual today (9 February), while Mercy University Hospital in Cork said it was to review its restrictions again on Monday. All visits were had been curtailed, with the exception of the children's ward and critical care areas, while 'exceptional cases' were being dealt with on an individual basis.
At Cork University Hospital, the situation was also being kept under review.
The hospitals have advised anyone with flu-like symptoms to visit their GP, rather than go to the emergency department.
