Viable Explosive Device 'Made Safe'
A viable explosive device has been made safe in Co Cork.
According to reports, a controlled explosion was carried out on the device on Friday (13 February). The object was discovered outside a house in the Knocknaheeney area at around 10am this morning.
A number of nearby homes were evacuated and roads were closed.
An Army bomb disposal team was sent to the scene and a controlled explosion was carried out on the object.
It has since been removed and taken away for further examination.
An investigation has been launched.

Explosive Device Discovered In Co Carlow
An investigation has been launched after army bomb disposal experts carried out a controlled explosion on a device in Co Carlow. The suspect explosive device was discovered in Kilmeaney on Thursday afternoon, 16 November. It has been described as a "complex viable improvised explosive device". The scene was declared safe at 6pm.

A viable explosive device has been found under a car in south Dublin. According to the Irish Independent, a viable IED (improvised explosive device) was found under a car in the Glenshane area of Jobstown in Tallaght, south Dublin. The Army Bomb Disposal Team were called at around 21:25 and a number of residents evacuated from their homes.
