Family Rescued From Co Tipperary Mountain
A family missing in the Knockmealdown mountains, Co Tipperary, were found safe and well in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The mother, father and three children had been walking on the mountain on Saturday when they became disoriented in failing light.
It is understood they raised the alarm themselves at about 20:00, when they realised they had lost their way.
A search operation was launched by South Eastern Mountain Rescue, assisted by Tramore Cliff and Mountain Rescue Team, and the Waterford-based coast guard helicopter Rescue 117.
Rescuers found the family safe and well at about 4am.

Climber Rescued From Kerry Mountain
A man has been rescued from a ledge on the Connor Pass, north of Dingle in County Kerry. The climber got trapped on the ledge near Pedlars Lake at around 6.00pm on Wednesday evening and a rescue operation was immediately launched. The Dingle Cliff and Coastguard Rescue Team made contact with the man shortly before 9.30pm.

Dog Survives Five Days Off Cliff
An aging dog named Sam has been saved in a dramatic rescue, after being stranded on a cliff edge for five days. The operation to save the stricken spaniel lasted some four hours, with a member of the Sligo Leitrim Mountain Rescue team abseiling eight metres down a rock face to where the dog was lodged in shrubbery on a narrow ledge.

A woman who fell while climbing in the Mweelrea mountains in Co Mayo yesterday evening has died. Search teams in the Mweelrea Mountains in Co Mayo were called to the scene where the woman, who is in her 30s, fell on Ben Bury peak at around 6.30pm yesterday evening.

One-Off Grant Announced For Mountain Rescue Services
A special one-off grant of €200,000 is to be made available for Mountain Rescue Ireland, Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, Leo Varadkar and Minister of State for Tourism & Sport, Michael Ring have announced. The ministers said that the funding would be used to purchase new vehicles and equipment.

Search Resumes On Mweelrea Mountain
A search has resumed on Mweelrea Mountain, Co Mayo, for a missing hillwalker. The walker, a male understood to be aged in his 30s, has not been seen since Tuesday night. The man's wife reported him missing. A search was launched on Wednesday involving the Coast Guard and Mayo Mountain Rescue but was ended when at nightfall.
