DCC Seek Expressions Of Interest For Land Development
Dublin City Council (DCC) has advertised for "expressions of interest" for three large vacant sites, in what is believed to be the first major development programme since the property crash.
It is the first time the council has reached out to the private sector on the matter of providing housing since the collapse of the public private partnership (PPP) almost seven years.
Under the old scheme the council would provide land to a private developer, who would build a mix of private and public housing.
Focusing on three sites with more than 30 hectares combined, DCC has advertised interest from developers, builders, investors, financiers or consortiums to enter discussions.
DCC said the exact nature of any new scheme is not yet set, but beginning discussions would help to "establish development options".
