New Dig Begins In Co Mayo For 'Disappeared'
A new dig for one of the so-called 'Disappeared' is to begin today close to Oristown Bog, near Wilkinstown, Co Mayo.
The Independent Commission for the Location of Victims' Remains (ICLVR) launched a geo-physical survey of the site last December, after it received new information on the disappearance of Joseph Lynskey.
Mr Lynskey, a former Cistercian monk and a member of the IRA, went missing from his home in west Belfast in August 1972.
His name was added to the list of 16 people that 'disappeared' during the Troubles, after the IRA admitted it had kidnapped, killed and secretly buried him.
The ICLVR has again appealed for information asking anyone who knows something to come forward.
