Investigation Launched Into Alleged Incident Between Garda And Homeless Man
An investigation has been launched into an alleged incident between a garda officer and a homeless man in Dublin on Friday.
According to reports, at about 15:30 on Henry Street in the city centre, there was an altercation between an officer and a homeless man. During the incident, it is claimed that the man took the garda's can of pepper spray.
Recovering the can, it is claimed that the garda officer then handcuffed the man before spraying him with the pepper spray.
It is understood the incident came to light when a video was posted to Facebook.
Gardaí have said that the incident is being investigated internally, with a Superintendent from outside the division appointed to oversee.

Man Dies In Stabbing Incident
A 30-year-old has died and a second man has been injured in a stabbing incident in Tullamore, Co Offaly, shortly after 7am this morning. It is believed there had been an argument in a house in the area and a Polish man was killed. The other man's injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Missing Man Found 'Safe And Well'
A missing 24-year-old man has been found "safe and well". Alex Sherwin had been reported missing on Sunday, with garda issuing a public appeal for assistance. No information on Mr Sherwin's whereabouts have been released, but garda said the investigation had now ended. They thanked the public for their help.

Man Remains Critical Following Shooting In Dublin
A 36-year-old man remains in a critical condition following a shooting incident in Dublin. Gardaí are appealing for information after the 36-year-old victim was shot a number of times at around 9:35am at Dun Emer Place, Lusk on Tuesday, 05 July. He was taken to Beaumont Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

A missing 52-year-old man from Cork has been found 'safe and well', garda have reported. John Ryan was last seen in the Shanakiel area of Cork City on Wednesday, 24 May. However, Mr Ryan has now been located and no further action is required.

Missing Co Mayo man, David Duffy, has been found safe and well, garda have reported. Garda had issued an appeal for help in tracing 36-year-old Mr Duffy, who had not been seen since Sunday. Garda have thanked the public for their help and said that no further action is needed.
