New €50m Cork City Centre Development Proposed
Developer John Cleary is seeking planning permission for a new €50m retail and office development in Cork city centre.
The plans proposes a re-development of the former Capitol Cinema site, which would see it converted into a five-storey office, retail and food innovation centre.
It is claimed that the development could be completed by next Christmas and would create 300 jobs during construction and an estimated 450 jobs once complete.

Dublin Taxi Protests Disrupt Traffic
Two separate taxi protest are underway in the Irish capital, with traffic chaos expected to hit major routes in and around Dublin. Thousands of union and non-union drivers are taking part in the demonstrations, one of which will last fours hours, having commenced at 7am. The SITPU protest is taking place Dublin Airport.

Microsoft has announced plans to create 200 new jobs in Dublin. The new roles reflect the rapid expansion of its EMEA Inside Sales organisation and will bring Microsoft's overall employee numbers in Ireland to 2,000.

eReading Firm To Create Over 30 Jobs
Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton TD, today announced that Kobo, a global leader in eReading, is to establish a software development centre in Dublin with the expected creation of over 30 highly skilled jobs. The investment is supported by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation through IDA Ireland.

150 New Jobs To Be Created In Dublin
Some 150 new jobs are to be created in Dublin by four companies. Seventy five jobs are to be created with two Indian companies establishing offices in Dublin/ Another 40 jobs are to be created by Aditi Technologies, as the set up a European Services and Business Development Centre in the capitol.
