Two Hurt In Restaurant Explosion
An explosion has occurred at a restaurant off the main street of Ballinspittle, between Bandon and Cork city, at about 11am this morning.
Reports suggest that two people have been injured.
Gardai, Cork fire brigade and the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) ambulances are currently at the scene, with an initial investigation suggesting that a gas cylinder might have caused the explosion.

A pipe bomb has been made safe at an apartment complex in Limerick city. The Defence Forces team from Cork deployed to Upper Cecil Street in Limerick following a request from the Garda. The area between Catherine Street and Dominic Street had been cordoned off and local residents were evacuated to a safe location. The team arrived at 11.

Cork Man Killed In Pharmaceutical Plant Explosion
A man has died following an explosion at a chemical and pharmaceutical plant in Co Cork. Three other men were also injured in the blast at the Cordon PharmaChem factory in Little Island. One of the men is understood to be in a serious condition. An investigation is now underway into the cause of the explosion, which happened at around 1.

Second Chemical Spill At Cork Plant
Fire fighters have been called to an industrial estate in County Cork following a chemical spill. The explosion, which happened at the Corden Pharmachem plant in Little Island, Co Cork, was the second incident at the plant this week. A chemical spill had occurred in a drum storage area on Sunday.
