Man Charged Over 1994 Murder

Gardaí have arrested a 41-year-old man in connection with the murder of Margot Seery in Dublin in 1994.

It is understood that officers arrested the man on Thursday morning at Osprey Apartments in Naas, Co Kildare.

Garda said the man is being held on suspicion of the murder of Ms Seery at Kenilworth Square, Dublin 6, on 8 October 1994.

A new investigation into the murder last year, lead to Ms Seery's body being exhumed from Rathkeele Cemetery in September and a post-mortem examination being conducted.

The suspect has been remanded in custody until next Wednesday.

Body Being Exhumed After Man Claims 1994 Murder
The body of a woman found dead in Dublin on 8th October 1994 is to be exhumed to undergo a post-mortem in light of new information given to gardaí. The body of Margot Seary (42) was found at a flat in Rathmines following a night out with friends. A post-mortem found that she had died of asphyxiation after choking.

A 48-year-old man has died as a result of serious injuries he received in his own home after a serious assault. Gardaí have launched a murder investigation into the attack during which, Limerick man Joe O'Donnell, 48, of Hyde Road, suffered serious head wounds in the early hours of Friday morning.

Missing Cork Man Found 'Safe And Well'
A missing 52-year-old man from Cork has been found 'safe and well', garda have reported. John Ryan was last seen in the Shanakiel area of Cork City on Wednesday, 24 May. However, Mr Ryan has now been located and no further action is required.

Missing Co Mayo Man Found 'Safe And Well'
Missing Co Mayo man, David Duffy, has been found safe and well, garda have reported. Garda had issued an appeal for help in tracing 36-year-old Mr Duffy, who had not been seen since Sunday. Garda have thanked the public for their help and said that no further action is needed.

Man Dies In Stabbing Incident
A 30-year-old has died and a second man has been injured in a stabbing incident in Tullamore, Co Offaly, shortly after 7am this morning. It is believed there had been an argument in a house in the area and a Polish man was killed. The other man's injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
