Men Airlifted To Hospital Following 'Serious' Workplace Accident

Two men had to be airlifted to Cork University Hospital following a serious workplace accident in Shannon.

It is understood the men were working at Shannon Industrial Estate, Co Clare, when the incident happened at about 15:30 on Thursday afternoon.

The men remain in hospital, where they are being treated for "serious burn injuries".

Two men have been arrested in connection with a road accident involving a gardaí motorcycle. According to reports a garda officer was injured when his official garda motorcycle collided with a car on Lennox Street at around 14:00 on Wednesday.

Road Deaths Rise - Again
The weekend road toll has risen further after a teenager died in the latest car accident. It happened early this morning at Newcastle West where gardaí are investigating the single vehicle fatal road traffic collision on the Listowel Road outside of Abbeyfeale, Co Limerick at approximately 4am this morning (Tuesday).
