Firefighters Tackle Wildfires In Co Kerry And Co Clare

Firefighters from Killarney, Castleisland, Kenmare and Killorglin were called to tackle wildfires overnight at Killarney National Park.

Around 100 acres at the foot of Mangerton Mountain are believed to have been badly damaged in the blaze.

A garda investigation into the cause of the fire has been launched.

According to a report by RTÉ, firefighters in Co Clare also spent 11 hours tackling a wildfire on Ben Dash, between Lissycasey and Kilmaley.

Landowners are being urged to "refrain from burning activities" due to an increased risk of gorse, forest and bog fires.
